Play Her Way Innovation Program - Tier 1 2025/26

The NSW Government is now accepting applications for the Play Her Way Innovation Program - Tier 1 2025/26. This program supports eligible State Sporting Organisations (SSOs) and State Sporting Organisations for People with Disability (SSODs) to deliver bold initiatives that focus on career activations for women and girls in sport.

Participants in this program can receive grants ranging from $3,000 to $5,000.

✅ Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for funding, applicants must:

• Be an NSW Office of Sport recognised State Sporting Organisation (SSO) or State Sporting Organisation for People with Disability (SSOD). The current list of recognised SSOs/SSODs is available in Appendix A.
• Include a declaration by the applicant organisation that, if successful, they will provide Public Liability Insurance with a minimum of $5 million cover.

Additional Notes:

Eligible organisations are encouraged to partner with other organisations, particularly those with experience working with women, girls, and under-represented communities.

Step 1: Check Your Eligibility

• Review the Eligible Applicants section of the guidelines to confirm your eligibility.
• If ineligible, consider partnering with an eligible organisation. The eligible organisation must submit the application.

Step 2: Understand the Requirements

• Read the program guidelines and related materials, including the application checklist, to ensure you meet all requirements.

Step 3: Prepare Your Application

• Gather necessary evidence, such as:
  • Letters of support
  • Funding commitments
  • Development approvals/exemptions
  • Images/plans
  • Quotes
  • Participation data
• Consider using the SmartyGrants tool (SmartyFile) to collaborate with team members, pre-fill forms, and manage submissions.

Step 4: Submit Your Application

• Use the SmartyGrants platform to submit your application.
• Familiarise yourself with the online application form and plan to submit ahead of the deadline.
• Ensure all mandatory documents are uploaded, as incomplete applications will not be accepted.
• Declare that all responses and supporting documents are true and correct.
• Submit your application before the closing date.
