The Next Generation Foresight Practitioners (NGFP) is currently accepting applications for its Balkans Fellowship Program 2026. This fellowship is designed to support emerging foresight leaders from the Balkans region through funding, training, mentorship, and collaboration opportunities. The program focuses on fostering long-term, systems-level change.

The NGFP Balkans Fellowship Program aims to empower changemakers working on projects related to:
- Climate Transitions
- Democracy
- Emerging Technologies
- Health
- Peacebuilding
- Rural Futures
- Intergenerational Fairness
The program provides resources and opportunities to help fellows develop and scale their futures-focused projects.

Participants in the NGFP Balkans Fellowship Program will receive:
- USD 1,000 kick-starter fund to support their project.
- A platform to connect with like-minded individuals globally.
- A project partner (usually an expert foresight practitioner).
- Foresight capability building through an introductory training course.
- Bi-weekly news and opportunity emails, including information about grants for changemaking projects.
- Opportunities to join regional or thematic hubs.
- Invitations to participate in relevant futures and foresight events and projects.
- The chance to compete for a USD 10,000 prize at the end of the fellowship year.
✅ Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Be 18–35 years old, or older with less than 1 year of foresight experience.
- Hold nationality and reside in the Balkans region.
- Be passionate about systems-level change and long-term impact.
- Be committed to learning, collaboration, community, and network-building.
- Have a bold, futures-focused project idea for their community or globally that can be enhanced, scaled, or deepened using foresight.
- Be working on challenges related to:
- Climate & Just Transitions
- Democracy & Sustainable Development
- Emerging Technologies
- Futures Methods From Around the World & Indigenous Futures
- Health
- Intergenerational Fairness
- Nuclear Security & Peacebuilding
- Rural Futures
