Opportunity Overview

The California Health Care Foundation's (CHCF) Health Care Leadership Program is designed to transform today’s clinicians into tomorrow’s leaders. This prestigious two-year, part-time fellowship selects up to 32 health care professionals annually, including physicians, behavioral health providers, nurses, dentists, pharmacists, and others.

The CHCF Health Care Leadership Program is hosted by the Healthforce Center at UCSF. It aims to equip clinicians with advanced leadership skills to address the challenges of California’s health care system. The program fosters collaboration and innovation among participants to drive meaningful change.

✅ Eligibility Criteria

This program is open to clinically trained health care professionals who:

  • Have at least five years of leadership experience.
  • Live and work in California.

Commitment to Diversity and Equity

The program values diversity across disciplines, regions, racial and ethnic backgrounds, and organizational settings. It is especially focused on increasing representation from underrepresented regions and communities. Applications are strongly encouraged from:

  • Clinicians in San Joaquin Valley, Inland Empire, Imperial, and Northern/Sierra counties.
  • Clinicians working in safety-net organizations.
  • Black, Latino, and Indigenous health care clinicians.
  • Behavioral health clinicians.
